Cooped up with the chickens.

Captain Obvious had a chicken farming mishap the other day.  He somehow got in the coop but couldn’t get out. I wondered what was taking him so long. I don’t know how long he stood like this before I looked out the kitchen window! “Oops, what’s he doing looking all forlorn?”

Dad to the rescue! And next time, take a shovel. 🙂

poor guy…

really mom?

well, at least he got the eggs

Smile Captain you survived…

Awwww! Get that boy some hot chocolate!

    • Haha! Yes, I should have mentioned that. I am NOT a slave driver. 🙂 His chicken chores are a small business where he and Scarfunkle learn about profit and loss! When they sell enough eggs they get to go “out to coffee” and get hot chocolates! They love it. 🙂

Chores, homeschool, fun and sometimes mishap!

Ha! Well, at least you saw him and Dad was home to bail him out. By the way, if I could have figured out a way to take raw eggs on the plane, I would have bought them out! You can’t get eggs like that in the grocery store! 🙂

  3. LOVED THE PICS! so this does happen to others…. the blog!

  4. I’m so glad I’m not the only mother who has found their child locked in the chicken coop. Last year my son (while still three and well, vertically challenged) went into the coop to gather eggs and couldnt reach the latch to let himself back out. I finally peeked out the window to see what was taking so long and he was working his little tail end off trying to reach that latch. But being the clever kid, he rigged up a system of door-cracking-but-not-quite-closing and it never happened again 🙂
